The SHARE European project has been created within the 6th Framework Program (FP6) to provide public safety forces with an advanced mobile service that can support communication among officers during large-scale public safety operations and expand the exchange of information to encompass multiple modalities, including text messages, voice communication, video and digital maps annotated with tactical information.
The Speech2STM technology developed by telisma is at the core of the SHARE system and allows for the use of simple language communication for groups in mobile nets.
With this new technology, officers can now just speak out naturally their emergency orders to their PC tablets. A spoken order like “Löschzug 29 zum Deutsche Bahn Haltepunkt Westfalenhalle (send fire brigade 29 to the railway station)” for instance is interpreted by the recognition engine, translated into a written message and broadcast to the relevant team.
