Paris, January 16th 2006 - telisma, European editor of speech recognition software solutions announces its recent increase in capital by more than 3 million Euros. The new placement was headed by Ventech and Innovacom and a collection of other historical shareholders such as 3i and AGF, plus a business angel.
These venture capitalists have thus endorsed their support for telisma, in a market context characterized both by an unprecedented business concentration, and speech technologies getting more and more widespread.
Laurent Balaine, CEO of telisma comments on the situation:
“Speech enabled telephone services are encountering real success, especially in the contact centres area. The rapid development of domestic ADSL services also opens up new markets for speech recognition.
As a supplier of speech recognition technology to system integrators and editors of specialist solutions, telisma is currently in a good position. Both our partners and their clients – be they operators or enterprises- are looking for a highly specialised and competent supplier in speech technologies. This increase in capital will permit us to strengthen our position as European leader by expanding internationally.”
According to Eric Huet, General Partner at Ventech:
“This capacity given to telisma to reinforce and extend its product line will enable the company, as of 2006, to offer a unique value-added proposition in the vocal phone services market”.
François Scolan, General Partner at Innovacom declares:
“This funding will clear the way for the company to assert its presence in the international arena and to reinforce its position as number two worldwide”
Telisma offers a complete range of speech recognition software: teliSpeech and complete development tools environment, which allows its partners to create very performing and user-friendly vocal applications, and to manage the complete service development life cycle, from design to fine tuning during service exploitation. teliSpeech operates with all the main VXML telephony platforms on the market, such as those of Genesys, VoiceGenie, Netcentrex and Voxpilot.
Telisma products are widely used in mass market telephone services, such, France Telecom’s voice activated dialling, as Orange Poland’s voice activated voicemail or SNCF’s information portal.
In order to accelerate its development, telisma has newly reinforced its sales force in the UK and France, just as it has its technical support team. The recent increase in capital will make it possible for telisma to establish itself in other European countries as well as keeping up with continuous innovation to maintain its position at a leading edge technology player. Telisma has a total of thirty-five employees from five different nationalities.
