valid word
In each step of the dialog the term valid word is used to describe a word which is likely to be recognized by the system and which produces an action (progression to another step in the dialog, database lookup, connection of electronic equipment etc).

voiceXML
VoiceXML is a high-level language for creating speech interfaces which integrate speech recognition technologies for user input and pre-recorded and/or text to speech audio for output. This language is the result of an agreement between speech technology leaders for the adoption of a universal standard for internet-based speech applications. VoiceXML was accepted as the basis for the development of a standard
by the W3C in May 2000 after submission by the VoiceXML Forum, which is an organization of over 500 companies and of which Telisma is a very active promoter.
